First, let me just start by saying, I believe in God–I believe He is The Creator of all that exists. I believe there would be no universe without God. I give credit where it’s due.
There has been so much talk these past few years over God and the universe—in fact, it seems people have replaced God with the universe. I’m not a fan.
So often, I see social media posts, or shows/movies saying remarks similar to this:
“The Universe will look out for you.”
“ Trust the universe.”
“Manifest what you desire.”
“Manifestation will bring what you need and want”
Listen, call me old school or whatever else, but I believe in the good old book—The Bible.
I don’t find it by chance or coincidental that the Bible is the only book, the oldest book that always traces back to answers that doctors, scientists, chemist, scholars, couldn’t and can’t find the answers to for centuries, but when you trace back to the Bible, it holds the answers to modern day TODAY and from centuries ago.
A book that was written years ago, still relevant and truthful in 2022—that’s not coincidental; that’s called truth from the Creator of it all.
His word was the same then and will always be the same.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
-Hebrews 13:8
I will also admit, I truly get very bothered when I hear the world trending with replacing The Creator with the universe.”
The universe is something that was created. It did not just get here. The Creator—God, created the universe. Therefore, I find it very hard to give sole credit to a creation rather than the Creator. I also find it highly disrespectful to the Creator—to discredit Him for His creations.
I’ll humbly admit, I am not a scientist nor do I claim to be…
However, I know many people do trust science over The Word. So I’ll offer my studies to support my claim.
I read this article that really helped me gain a clearer understanding in regards to science and I encourage you to read it as well for your own learning and if you’d like more in depth of the scientific history. What is the difference between God & The Universe?
Again, I am no scientist friend and don’t pretend to be 🙂
Upon writing this blog post, I came across an article (The one I linked above) that featured a famous and known atheist, well ex atheist, —Anthony Flew.
After years, I means years of being an atheist and teaching his studies, Anthony concluded years later, when confronted with the realities of Physics and Information Science and DNA evidence- Flew concluded that there must be a God.
Why? How? One word he describes… Evidence.
“I now believe there is a God…I now think it [the evidence] does point to a creative Intelligence almost entirely because of the DNA investigations. What I think the DNA material has done is that it has shown, by the almost unbelievable complexity of the arrangements which which are needed to produce life, that intelligence must have been involved in getting these extraordinarily diverse elements to work together.” -Anthony Flew
Check out Flew’s book linked above for more of his studies and what led him to conclude there must be a God.
The Bible’s first book, Genesis, opening line is:
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth* 2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the spirit of God was hovering over the surface and the waters." - Genesis 1:1-2
The Bible had been telling us the universe had a beginning for over 3000 years before the most brilliant minds of science figured it out!
When you read the bible, you’ll notice in various versions, the first chapter of Genesis is titled something in reference to:
“The beginning”
“The Account of Creation”
“The Beginning of the World”
“The Creation”
And so on— however, they all reference the beginning. I don’t find it by chance or ironic the bible’s first chapter starts with how it all began. I believe our Creator knew even in 2022, there would come the time when His creations questioned the Creator and beginning.
I just find it hard to accept to give credit to the universe rather than The Creator. I will forever stand on God is the Creator and orchestrates everything and all His creations.
So while the world may give credit to the universe as for their good fortune or blessings, I believe God blows wind to the universe to move in our direction and works on our behalf–not the universe itself. This is God’s universe.
Now, my next topic/point…
Prayer VS. manifestation:
I can admit, I am someone who has used the term manifest. I can not say I do not believe in manifesting; but I can say that prayer outweighs manifestation any day in my opinion. In order to manifest something, I believe you must submit your requests in prayer to God first; and then manifest your prayers to come to life by your faith and supplication through prayer.
Let’s take a look at the meaning of manifestation:
Manifest (man·i·fest)
/ˈmanəˌfest/
- Manifest: display or show (a quality or feeling) by one’s acts or appearance; demonstrate.
- Manifest: clear or obvious to the eye or mind
- Manifestation (man·i·fes·ta·tion)
/ˌmanəfəˈstāSH(ə)n,ˌmanəˌfesˈtāSH(ə)n/
Manifestation: noun
- an event, action, or object that clearly shows or embodies something, especially a theory or an abstract idea.
- The action or fact of showing an abstract idea.
Manifestation Synonyms: display, demonstration, show, showing, exhibition, presentation, indication, illustration, exemplification, declaration
So, now that we have clear definitions of these terms, let’s break down what prayer is defined as:
Pray ( /prer/)
Pray- noun
- a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God or an object of worship.
- Pray-a religious service, especially a regular one, at which people gather in order to pray together.”500 people were detained as they attended Friday prayers”
- Pray-an earnest hope or wish.
I don’t find it ironic that to manifest means to display an action for an idea.
In other words, when you manifest, people usually say it out loud, or write it down, or speak something not yet of existence into existence. Which is why, I said earlier, I do believe in doing this, declaring my faith into things I have not yet seen; but declaring/manifesting what I want to come forth to my life.
Here’s what I do not believe, I do not believe in just speaking things into existence without going into prayer prior. I do not believe in following my own path without consulting with Jesus first.
I believe Jesus directs my paths and then with his blessing, gives me the power to declare what he has blessed over my life.
You can make many plans, but the Lord's purpose will prevail. -Proverbs 19:21 “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” - Ephesians 3:20
So many times, I believe we make our plans messy by declaring plans over our life without consulting with God first. Which is why I say, I don’t believe in replacing manifesting over prayer. I believe prayer is the foundation; manifestation comes after prayer and getting your confirmation from The Father.
I don’t believe in manifesting plans that solely come from human desire, emotion, and flesh. We are not God; therefore, often as humans, our emotions can be extremely overwhelming and misleading. It is by prayer we gain clarity on what is truly for us. Then, by clarity through prayer, we can manifest what was confirmed from God.
I pray the world would stop giving God’s creations more credit than the The Creator Himself.
God is the Alpha and The Omega. The Great I am. The creator of life.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” -Revelation 22:13
God formed the earth and the universe. The stars, the galaxies, the moon, the sun, the air, life itself.—it all belongs to Him.
-Genesis 1:14-18 4 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons,[a] and for days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. 16 And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. 17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
So, yes, I am not saying I don’t believe in science, the universe, or manifestation; however, I believe those are the creations and applications from the Creator. I believe God is the illustrator of science and creator of the universe. By prayer and seeking God, we can manifest what He confirms. Our purpose stems from Christ. He gives us the desires of our hearts and blesses them immensely when we seek Him through prayer and an authentic relationship with Him.
Friend, I pray we stop dismissing each other when our beliefs differ. I just pray we respect each-other by our love for Christ alone. He’s the one who has the final say. We are just here to lead one another back to Him when our time here expires. This world does not belong to us.
There is no other name above your name, Lord!
I’m rooting for you because God loves you like crazy. Keep hanging in there. Keep being kind. Keep looking to God. You got this because God has you!
Love,
Padriana
xoxo always.
