Try Again.

Yesterday, I had a conversation with one of my sisters in Christ. I confessed to my sister how guilt was creeping over me about a decision I had made. I used to be the queen of running from God when I found myself entangled in sin.

I would feel so ashamed and unworthy to call on Jesus because of my mess. But the truth is, those moments you feel ashamed, lost, unworthy and weak, are the moments to cling to Jesus even harder.

It’s easy to go to God when everything is alright and when you feel you’ve been living “right”. But it’s the most humbling decision you can do when you decide to seek God right in your mess.

Meet God right where you are and humble yourself before His feet. That takes courage and humility.

And oh how God delights when we lose sight of our egos and turn to Him. So, if you’re like me, where your deepest desire is to please God but you find yourself in situations where you’ve fallen yet again, try again.

God’s not counting how many times you’ve fallen, but He is searching your heart. Don’t allow guilt to keep you from God. A spirit of guilt does not come from God.

Rejoice in the fact that your love and respect for God is so deep that your spirit is bothered when you mess up, this shows your respect for God. Rejoice that you have a desire to do better, but don’t allow guilt to paralyze you.

Worry when your spirit is no longer bothered when you’re messing up. That’s when you may be a little too far from God. No matter how many times you fall, get back up, and try it again.

I’m rooting for you!!!
