Happy April, friends! 🤍
This Bible study and reading plan is a little different than anything I’ve done before, and I’m SO excited to finally be walking it out this month.
For a long time, the Old Testament felt intimidating, confusing, and honestly… just old. I’m just being real with you, friend. I struggled to understand how it connected to our lives today. Some things felt so strict, even bizarre at times, and in today’s world, it can all feel a little unrealistic. I also had a hard time seeing the gentle, loving side of God through the punishments, regulations, and rules.
But over the past two years, something shifted in me. I stopped wanting to just read the Bible to check it off my to-do list. I wanted to understand it. To study it. To really sit with it and see the heart of God for myself.
And what I’ve come to realize is this—the Old Testament isn’t just old or outdated. It’s a living, breathing reflection of who God is and who He has always been… our Creator. It all points somewhere. It all connects.
The Old Testament foreshadows the New Testament the entire time. It points to Jesus. It reveals His importance before He even arrives on the scene. And once I started seeing that, everything began to come together in such a powerful way.
So my heart for this month’s plan is simple: I want us to open our minds and truly see the connection. To go from viewing the Old Testament as just an old book full of rules and rituals, to recognizing it as the very foundation—the blueprint—of our faith.
God knew exactly what He was doing all along. He was preparing hearts. He was laying the groundwork. And when you start to see how beautifully the Old and New Testaments come together… it changes everything.
We’re not just reading this month—we’re connecting, understanding, and growing.
