Exodus Bible Study Challenge: 30-Day Reading Plan and Film Recommendation

I am excited to share September’s Bible Study Challenge-Exodus!

This Reading plan is for 30 days and will cover each chapter of Exodus. However, as always, this reading plan is not solely for September. You can start this challenge on any day of the month and proceed for 30 days following the plan. You can modify the plan according to whichever day you start.

I was inspired to read the book of Exodus because I was recently watching a documentary titled: Testament: The Story of Moses on Netflix.

This is an incredible 3 episode film that does a great job illustrating the story of Moses. As you read and study Exodus in the Bible for this challenge, I suggest watching the film in addition to add to your study. It does such a wonderful job visually representing the scenes. The documentary also offers unique philosophies and viewpoints.

Below, you will find the reading plan for Exodus. Please feel free to leave a comment of your Bible Study notes or any thoughts you feel led to share during your study!

The Importance of the Book of Exodus:

It’s important to keep in mind that everyone and everything has its own history of how it became what it is. People and even Nations, all have a story. The story of Exodus teaches the history and story of the Israelites journey to independence from being slaves to the Egyptians for 400 years. Moses was God’s chosen leader to lead the Israelites out of Egypt to their deliverance. However, like any journey, this deliverance came with struggle and a story. As you study the book of Exodus, think of a season in your life where you knew you had to exit. Think of all that exit included on the journey. Maybe you’re going through a season of exiting now, hold on to the truth that God is the author of every story. As long as your faith and eyes stay on God, surely, He will always make a path for you even if it means having to make a path out of no way (like how God parted the Red Sea for the Israelites, making a clear path for them to dry land)

Prayer for this Challenge:

Dear Father,

I thank You for your word. I pray as I begin this challenge, You would equip me daily with your strength to endure and be consistent. I pray this challenge changes my life greatly. I pray I get to know You on a deeper level than I’ve ever been. I pray I hear from You in a special way that strengthens our bond. I pray I gain a deeper understanding of Your love and the essence of Your goodness. May I fall in love with Your word and absorb Your wisdom. I pray for myself and the people on this challenge with me as we honor You; may we get to know You deeper through this study.

Amen.
