30-Day Bible Challenge: Study the Book of Luke

I am SO excited to study the book of LUKE this month! Last month, we studied the book of Mark. In the Bible, Luke is the proceeding book after Mark, so I thought it was perfect to continue studying The Four Gospels. If you didn’t know, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are considered The Four Gospels in the Bible. When I first started these Bible Challenges in December of 2023, I remember my mom telling me, “If you ever want to learn about Jesus and don’t know where to start in the Bible, read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John”. So, for the very first Bible Challenge I ever started, you may remember we began with the book of Matthew last December. I’m so happy to have read Mark last month, and now reading Luke this.

My prayer for myself and anyone led to participate in this study, is that we would not just read to read. I pray we would read with intentionality and devotion to the Lord. I pray we would read for wisdom that we can apply to our own lives daily. As a woman who thrives on to-do lists and gets a serious thrill off of checking off tasks on my to-do list, I don’t want my Bible time to ever be a task I’m just trying to check off. I want it to be a part of my daily routine that I intentionally slow down for God and sit at the feet of Jesus. God is the giver of time and it’s only right to dedicate time back to Him. I pray I we use this challenge as an accountability tool to make Jesus and The Word a lifestyle and not just a phase.

I designed this reading plan for 30 days in November, however, this plan will work for ANY day or month that has 30 days! If you miss a day, it’s never too late to pick up your Bible and catch up. Below, you will find the 30-day reading plan for Luke. Feel free to screenshot the plan or click the downloadable file and print!

The Importance of Luke:

The Book of Luke was written by Luke—a Gentile who traveled extensively with Paul. Luke wrote his Gospel by compiling the stories of eyewitnesses and accounts of Jesus’ life. Luke wrote a detailed of Jesus’s life and ministry. The book of Luke does a powerful job showing Jesus’ compassion for the oppressed and outcasts. The book of Luke is the only canonical story of Jesus’ childhood years. This book’s order is similar to Mark and Matthew, however Luke goes into a very detailed account of Jesus’ trip to Jerusalem. This book is perfect for anyone wanting to discover the heart of Jesus and His journey on earth.

Prayer:

Dear Father, I thank You for the scriptures and the opportunity to study You. I pray I would apply Your word and truth to my life. I pray this month, I’m transformed into a better person because of my study. I pray I would be of service to other people and apply my learnings into my actions. I pray that as I read, I would slow down to fully analyze the wisdom that comes from Your word. May I not be in a rush with my time with You. I pray I don’t miss the lessons You intend for me to gain. May my eyes be opened. May I be consistent in my study with You and make You a priority everyday. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
